Salt Pepper Battered Potato Capsicum Burger

Materials: 4 Burgers

1 or 2 potato (375g)
1 capsicum (bell pepper 200g)
¼ cup plain flour
2 tbsp glutinous rice flour
Bread Buns
Salt Pepper Batter:
1/3 cup plain flour, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, 3 ½ tbsp water

Ingredients:

Salt 1 tsp
Oil ½ tsp oil for patties mix and 1 tbsp to cook the patties
Sugar ½ tsp
Black Pepper sprinkle

Tips:

1. Dry cos lettuce with paper towel.

2. Keep potato skin is a heathier practice.

3. Boil potato water to cover half of the potatoes.

4. You may use cold water to cool down the boiled potatoes.

5. Take seeds out from capsicum. Cut capsicum into strips then dice them.

6. Use large bowl to make patties. Make patties with gentle force.

7. Add water gradually when making the batter.

8. Make patties into a ball first, then press down.

9. You may brush batter to the patties.

10. Cooking patties is easy when we use flat pan and curved spatula.

11. When oil is warm in the pan, turn off the heat. Do this when putting in patties may also protect you from being burned.

12. Carefully control cooktop heat to cook patties so both sides are in crispy golden brown.

13. Use wavy edge knife to cut buns and tomatoes.

14. Warm buns to get best taste result.

15. For better taste feeling, use sauce and vegetables same as this recipe.

16. Not recommend to add salt and pepper in addition to the battered patties.

17. Any types of cheese seem not necessary for this recipe.

Procedure:

1. Wash potatoes. Cut them into four.
2. Put potatoes in a pot. Fill water to cover half of the potatoes.
3. Heat the pot and boil the potatoes for 20 minutes.
4. Wash capsicum, cos lettuce and tomato.
5. Dice the capsicum.
6. Cut tomato into pieces.
7. Mix boiled potatoes, diced capsicum, salt, sugar, black pepper, oil and plain flour together. Mash the potatoes thoroughly.
8. Add 2 table spoons of glutinous rice flour. Mix them well.
9. Mix them into dough. Then separate them into 4 equal parts.
10. Make batter with 1/3 cup of plain flour, 1 tea spoon of salt, ½ tea spoon of black pepper and 3 ½ table spoon of water. Add water gradually.
11. Heat a flat pan. Add oil. ½ table spoon of oil for the start. Turn off the heat when oil is warm.
12. Make patties from the mixture. Then coat batter on to the patties.
13. Cook patties in the flat pan.
14. Control heat well to cook the patties and make both sides of the patties in golden brown.
15. Make burgers with Bread buns, cos lettuce, tomato, cooked patties and baby rockets. Use apple sauce for bedding and BBQ sauce for dressing.
16. Enjoy.
