Vegan Meat Shanghai Buk Choy Rice Bowl
3cm long Vegetarian Ham (Original Flavour)
2 bunches Buk Choy (Bok Choy) (630g)
1.5 cup Medium Grain Rice
1.5 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Cooking oil
650ml Water
1. Electrical Rice cooker is essential for this recipe. Pot cooking rice requires an experienced skill level.
2. After washing the rice, leave the rice in water. It’s not necessary to drain the rice thoroughly.
3. Soaking Buk choy for half an hour may make it easy to wash the soil from the Buk Choy.
4. Defrost the vegan ham from the freezer. After cut the 3cm length to be used, put the rest of vegan ham back to freezer.
5. If you don’t have wok, you may use large pot.
6. Wait for oil to become hot, then add in Buk Choy.
7. Cook Buk Choy to tender before adding other materials.
8. Wok cooking is to allow the rice grain absorb Buk Choy and vegan ham properly. Stir rice and Buk choy enough times to make it happens.
9. Do not use hot water to cook rice.
10. Once “start” is pressed, let the rice cooker do its job. Do not open the lid during the cooker’s cooking procedure.
1. Wash rice, drain and leave aside.
2. Wash Buk Choy. One by one, take the leaves off and wash the soil off.
3. Wash vegan meat.
4. Cut Buk Choy into small pieces.
5. Dice the vegan meat.
6. Heat a wok.
7. Add 2 table spoons of oil into the wok.
8. When oil is hot, add Buk Choy.
9. Stir the Buk Choy well. Cook the Buk Choy to tender.
10. Add 1.5 tea spoons of salt. Stir well.
11. Add rice.
12. Stir the rice with Buk Choy.
13. Add vegan meat. Stir all the materials well.
14. Turn off the heat.
15. Put all wok materials into the rice cooker container.
16. Add 650ml of water into the rice cooker.
17. Put the container back to rice cooker.
18. Start the rice cooker in plain rice mode.
19. Cook for one hour until rice cooker call for end.
20. Scoop the vegan meat Buk Choy rice out into a bowl.
21. Enjoy.
