One of Master Lu’s dispels, was appointed by Buddha. Let her write down what she sees and hears by letting her sleepwalk in the heaven and the underworld. Her account of these sleepwalk may help people from the human world know how the heaven and the hell look like. What she sees in the heaven and the underworld is happening at the same time as our present life.
Things that she sees and hears are edited to books called “A Buddhist’s Account of Her Visit to Heaven and the Underworld”. The English version of this book, has only got first volume. There are also second and third volume in Chinese.
If you have had a very good dream, you may compare the description of heaven in this book to see if it is similar to your dream.
Similarly, if you had few nightmares, you may read the underworld chapters to see if the situation in your dream is similar to the real underworld.
Before you start to read, it would be better for you to understand a basic” one plus one equals two” knowledge. This knowledge will help you understand the book.
Th knowledge is called “the universal law of cause and consequence”. When you sow melons, you reap melons. When you sow beans You reap beans. Whatever cause a person plants, he will get a consequence correspond to that cause.
When a person does a good thing, let’s put it as a kind thing, he will be rewarded by a kind consequence. For example, a person had saved many disaster victims in his previous life, (plant a large kind cause), the rewards he get in this life is super wealthy (get a large kind consequence). Master Lu had watched Totem for this super wealthy person. He is still alive in the human world.
When a person does an evil thing, he will be retributed by an evil consequence. For example, when a person was very stingy in his previous life, he will always be poor in this lifetime. No matter how hard he tries, it will be difficult for him to turn it over. When a person commits many sex misconducts, basically his career is not going well. A lot of times, success is right in front of him, but at the last moment, it just doesn’t work out.
What things are classified as kind and what is an evil thing, you’d better read the book. The kind and evil concepts could be different from your own concepts. The correspond kind or evil retribution from the types of kind or evil, are also clearly distinguished. Read the book you will know.
One thing is important. “Cause and Consequence, they repay without discrepancy.” Everything in the universe, a person, a country, a nation, the world, are all in operation following this law. There is no situation that do not conform to this law. What people can’t see and have doubt on it, is the time. You are in this life circle. You can’t see your previous life. You may complain about your life for things happen on you. You do not aware that these things are the consequences from your own previous life. When you see an evil person, you didn’t see his evil retribution. You thought the law of cause and consequence didn’t work on him. What you don’t know, is the retribution that is coming to him, will be much bigger than you can think.
Therefore, the heaven chapters, is a reference for those who has done kind things and will be up. The hell chapters are the vies versa.
