Normal Salt Semolina Corn Burger

Materials: 4 Burgers

200g of Semolina Coarse, 

1 cup of frozen corn kernels,

½ cup of plain flour,

½ cup of glutinous rice flour

 

Ingredients:

1 tsp salt

¼ tsp oil for patties mix and 1 tsp to cook the patties

¼  tsp sugar

optional: pepper

Tips:
  1. Soak the semolina and drain it before mixing.
  2. Defrost frozen corn kernels in advance, or water rinse kernels to defrost.
  3. When shape the patties, wet hands may prevent the dough stick on hands.
  4. Cooking patties is easy when we use flat pan and curved spatula.
  5. When placing ready-made patties in the pan, turn the heat off. Protect your hands from being burned.
  6. It’s best to have the patties cooked while their surfaces are golden brown.
  7. Cook carrot pieces together with the patties. Flip their sides.
  8. Use wavy edge knife to cut buns.
  9. Warm buns to get the best taste result.
Procedure:
  1. Defrost frozen corn kernels in advance or rinse them in water to defrost.
  2. Soak Semolina Coarse for 10 minutes.
  3. Wash the carrot, tomato and cos lettuce.
  4. Peel of carrot skin and cut it into pieces.
  5. Slice tomato into pieces.
  6. Dry cos lettuce with paper towel.
  7. Drain soaked semolina. Put it in a big bowl.
  8. Mix semolina with corn kernels, 1 tea spoon of salt, a little bit of sugar (1/4 tsp), bit of oil (1/4 tsp), half cup of plain flour, and ¼ cup of glutinous flour (half of the ½ cup recipe).
  9. Mix all the materials and ingredients together.
  10. Add the rest of glutinous rice flour.
  11. Make sure the dough is fully mixed and set. Divide it into 4 equal parts.
  12. Heat a flat pan. Add 1 tea spoon of oil.
  13. Make patties from the dough. Make them into a ball then press down to be patties.
  14. Turn off the heat when placing the patties in the pan. Turn the heat back on after all of them are in the pan.
  15. Reduce heat in 2 minutes. Cook the patties well in the pan. Flip sides.
  16. After flipping patties, cook carrot pieces in the pan together with the patties. Flip carrots as well.
  17. Turn off the heat when patties and carrots are cooked.
  18. Spread apple sauce on the bread. Make burgers with bread buns, tomato, lettuce, cooked patties and carrots. Use BBQ sauce for dressing.
